A museum in the former Lubomirski residence

The Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola occupies the complex of the former Lubomirski residence in Rozwadów, today a district of the town. The institution collects and presents the heritage of Stalowa Wola, Rozwadów and the whole area along the lower San river, and its exhibition is divided into several thematic departments. Alongside the permanent displays, the museum runs a rich programme of temporary exhibitions.

The collections

The art department gathers works by Alfons Karpiński and Stefan Norblin, Judaica and pieces by contemporary artists. The history department holds documents, archives and photographs linked to the town and the region, while the archaeological section leads through local history up to the early Middle Ages. At the heart of the collection is the ethnography devoted to the Lasowiacy culture of the Sandomierz Forest.

Good to know

Among the ethnographic exhibits, items from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries stand out: a woman's żupan, folk costumes from the Radomyśl area, and furnishings of cottages and craft workshops. The museum runs educational programmes for children, young people and visitors with disabilities.
