Dzieci Polskich 20, Wieś Gałków Duży
The institution works in the village of Gałków Duży in the Łódź East district. Its patron is Leokadia Marciniak, a local community and education activist who ran the library, the folk ensemble and the drama theatre in Gałków.
The collection covers the history, archaeology and ethnography of the area. It includes folk costumes, everyday household objects and farming tools, maps and military items from both world wars, as well as a large set of photographs of former villagers and of farm buildings that no longer exist.
The museum runs museum lessons, exhibitions of folk artists and competitions for residents, publishes books on the history of Gałków and cooperates with researchers and associations. Admission is free, and the display is indoors, so it works in any weather.
