Theatrical Wrocław in one place

The Henryk Tomaszewski Theatre Museum on Plac Wolności gathers mementoes of the city's stages and their artists. A branch of the City Museum, it documents the achievements of one of Poland's most important theatre centres. The holdings include photographs, posters, costumes and set designs.

The master's flat

The heart of the display is the reconstructed flat of Henryk Tomaszewski, founder of the Wrocław pantomime theatre. It holds original furniture, documents and personal belongings, plus a huge collection of puppets from around the world, including Mexico, Australia and Japan.

Who will enjoy it

The visit is unusual: exhibits may be touched and drawers and wardrobes opened, which makes it appealing to children. A separate exhibition is devoted to Stefan Arczyński, a doyen of Polish photography linked with Wrocław.
