A Baroque residence near Łowicz

Nieborów Palace was built at the end of the 17th century and represents the north-western variety of European Baroque. Today a branch of the National Museum in Warsaw, together with the neighbouring garden of Arkadia it forms one of the most valuable residential complexes in the region.

Interiors and collections

Successive owners rebuilt the residence according to the fashion of their day, so Rococo, early Classicism and Neo-Rococo coexist inside. The original layout of the rooms and the furnishings survive — furniture, paintings, the library and porcelain.

Guests and film sets

Nieborów hosted Stanisław August Poniatowski, Julian Ursyn Niemcewicz and Jan Piotr Norblin, among others. The palace rooms and the park also served as a film set for many Polish productions, from Akademia Pana Kleksa to Kariera Nikodema Dyzmy and Chłopi.
