A slope above the Czorsztyn Reservoir

Polana Sosny is a small ski station on the slopes of Sosna, within the Magura Spiska range and on the edge of the Pieniny Mountains. From the pistes and the top station you can see the dam and the Czorsztyn Reservoir, Dunajec Castle in Niedzica, the Pieniny massif of Trzy Korony (Three Crowns) and, in good visibility, the Tatras. Access runs from Niedzica and Sromowce Wyżne.

Pistes and lifts

There are five descents: three ski runs of varying difficulty, a snowboard run and Park Kubusia for children. The longest run measures about 800 m, and three lifts marked A, B and C carry skiers uphill. The slope is floodlit, so skiing is also possible in the evening. An eight-kilometre cross-country trail leads from the top station towards Kacwin.

Who it suits

The scale of the resort suits families and people learning to ski — two ski schools and an equipment rental operate here. Advanced skiers will treat Polana Sosny as an addition to a Pieniny trip rather than its main goal. After skiing you can rest in one of the two mountain-hut eateries.
