A ski jump in the heart of Zakopane

Wielka Krokiew is the best-known ski jumping hill in Poland, set at the foot of Mount Krokiew in Zakopane, on Bronisława Czecha Street. The venue belongs to the Central Sports Centre complex and has for decades hosted the country's most important jumping events, including World Cup competitions that draw crowds of fans.

Chairlift and views

A chairlift almost 357 metres long runs up to the hill and operates all year round. From the top you can see the inrun, the landing slope and the judges' tower from a competitor's perspective, and in good weather also a panorama of the Tatra Mountains and the valleys surrounding Zakopane. A café operates at the upper station.

Good to know

A visit to the hill itself usually takes about an hour, but it is worth allowing more time for a walk around the sports centre where Polish athletes train. The site lies close to the town centre, so it combines easily with a stroll along Krupówki. On competition days access and parking nearby can be difficult.

  • Car park at the venue
  • Ticket office and chairlift
  • Café at the upper lift station
  • Toilets and information point
Visit duration: approx. 1 hour Seasonality: Open all year
