Pławna Dolna 93, Wieś Pławna Dolna
The Castle of Silesian Legends stands in Pławna Dolna in the Izera Foothills and forms part of the artistic complex Magiczna Pławna, created by the painter Dariusz Miliński. Its interiors are filled with life-size puppets, the characters of tales about the Spirit of the Karkonosze Mountains.
The visit takes the form of a performance: figures animated by actors act out scenes from legends of Liczyrzepa and the former inhabitants of the Karkonosze. Guests may try moving the puppets themselves. Nearby studios run ceramic, blacksmith and lithography workshops.
Magiczna Pławna also includes the Knights' Stronghold, Noah's Ark and Miliński's Atelier, so a visit easily stretches to half a day. Much of the site is under a roof, which makes it a good destination for rainy weather while touring Lower Silesia.
