The pier in Ostróda is L-shaped and is regarded as the largest structure of its kind in the country. It reaches out into Lake Drwęckie in the very centre of town, a few steps from Ostróda's main streets. It is the most recognisable point of the urban waterfront and a natural goal for a short walk.
A spacious pavilion stands in the middle of the structure, giving shelter from sun and rain and serving in summer as a stage for cultural events. From the deck you can take in the panorama of Lake Drwęckie and the town centre. Next to the pier there is a mooring jetty for sailors — it is meant for short stops only and is neither a harbour nor a place to spend the night on board.
The waterfront connects with walking and cycling paths around the lake, and restaurants and bars operate nearby. The pier is flat and free of steps, so wheelchairs and prams get around easily; entry is free and dogs are welcome.
