The Stańczyki bridges are two twin railway viaducts in the Romincka Forest, in the Gołdap district. Their slender arches rise more than thirty metres above the Błędzianka valley, making them the tallest structures of this kind in the country. They were built at the end of the First World War, in 1917-1918.
The crossings were meant to link Gołdap with Żytkiejmy, but the line never came fully into use; the war and new borders changed the plans. Because of their resemblance to the Roman Pont du Gard they are called the Aqueducts of the Romincka Forest. The concrete piers were faced with stone, and the slender arches still impress when seen from the valley floor.
In summer the crest of one bridge is opened and can be walked across. A bungee jumping site also uses the height of the structure. The best view of both viaducts is from the path descending to the bottom of the valley. Around them stretches the Romincka Forest Landscape Park with walking and cycling routes.
