Wieś Jastrzębia Góra
The Gwiazda Północy memorial stone stands on the edge of the cliff in Jastrzębia Góra, in Puck County. The obelisk marks the spot recognised as the northernmost point of Poland — it was identified by land surveys carried out at the initiative of the Society of Friends of Jastrzębia Góra. Previously the title was attributed to nearby Rozewie.
The stone itself is small, but the surroundings reward the short walk. From the edge of the drop you can see a wide belt of beach and the open Baltic, and in good weather the view reaches far west towards Rozewie. The actual extreme point of the country lies lower, on the beach at the foot of the cliff.
The visit takes a quarter of an hour and is best combined with a longer stroll around Jastrzębia Góra: the seaside avenue, the paths along the cliff and the ways down to the beach. The spot is popular, so it can get crowded at the height of the season — mornings and sunset are quieter, when the cliff is backlit.
