Stara Morawa 29, Wieś Stara Morawa
The Łaskawy Kamień lime kiln stands in Stara Morawa near Stronie Śląskie, at the foot of the Śnieżnik Massif and within the Śnieżnik Landscape Park. It is a 19th-century Rumford-type kiln in which local limestone was burned. Once its industrial life ended, the building found a second one as a place of art.
Since 1978 the site has been in the care of the Rybczyński family, who run a printmaking studio, a contemporary art gallery and a papermaking workshop here. Seasonal exhibitions are held, among them works by Professor Jacek M. Rybczyński. Beside the kiln stand a house with a studio, a Japanese garden, a pyramid and a bell tower, forming a coherent artistic ensemble.
The lesser horseshoe bat, a rare species, lives in the walls of the kiln; in summer these small mammals can be watched from a purpose-built observatory. Visits take place with a guide during the summer season. The Bear Cave in Kletno and the trails up Śnieżnik lie nearby.
