What this place is

The palace ruins in Sławików, a village in Racibórz County, draw lovers of abandoned residences. The building probably dates from the 18th century, and later remodelling gave it an eclectic character with Neoclassical elements.

History

Until the Second World War the property changed hands several times. After 1945 nobody looked after it, the interiors were stripped, and the roofless walls decayed rapidly. The Rudnik municipality now carries out protective works meant to halt further deterioration of what is left.

Good to know

The ruins are viewed and photographed from outside, at a safe distance — the structure is unstable, so caution and close supervision of children are essential. Around them lies the former park, neglected today but worth a walk: hidden among the undergrowth stands the mausoleum of the estate owners.

  • No tourist facilities
Cost: Free admission Visit duration: approx. 1 hour Seasonality: Year-round, open site
