The Czartoryski Palace in Puławy is a spacious residence above the Vistula, associated with three great families: the Lubomirskis, the Sieniawskis and the Czartoryskis. It was built between 1671 and 1679 on the initiative of Crown Grand Marshal Stanisław Herakliusz Lubomirski.
The palace originally had defensive features; after numerous rebuildings only the fortified entrance hall survives from them. Destroyed in 1706 during the Great Northern War, it was rebuilt in Rococo style by the Sieniawskis. Its heyday came at the turn of the 19th century, when the Czartoryskis took over.
The interiors house the Czartoryski Museum with mementoes of the former residents and collections of national importance; the museum also runs educational classes and workshops. The palace is surrounded by an English-style landscape park with a rotunda chapel, small bridges and springs.
