The Krasiński manor in Złoty Potok

The museum occupies an elegant manor house from the 1820s in the village of Złoty Potok in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland, not far from Częstochowa. The estate belonged first to the Krasiński family and later to the Raczyński family; since 2008 it has housed a museum devoted to their story.

What is on display

The permanent exhibition gathers historic interior furnishings, portraits and drawings of family members and numerous keepsakes. Among the most valuable items are first editions of Zygmunt Krasiński's works and a piano chosen for the poet with the help of Frédéric Chopin. Temporary shows on regional history and art are held as well.

The surroundings

Złoty Potok is one of the prettiest villages of the upland: ponds, springs, limestone outcrops and hiking trails starting just behind the manor. A museum visit combines easily with a walk through the park and the Wiercica valley.
