A castle in the Dzików district of Tarnobrzeg

The residence in the Dzików district of Tarnobrzeg grew out of an earlier tower manor whose beginnings remain unclear. After the estate had been bought from the Toporczyk family of Ossolin, it belonged for centuries to the Tarnowski family and stayed in their hands until the Second World War.

From fire to museum

In the second half of the 17th century the manor was enlarged and fortified. After the fire of 1927 the castle was rebuilt in Baroque forms recalling the Vasa era. After the war it housed an agricultural school, among other uses; today it holds the Historical Museum of the City of Tarnobrzeg with mementoes of the Tarnowski family.

Outbuildings and activities

The service quarters are worth a look: the kitchen complex, stables, guardhouse and a small power station from the early 20th century. Museum lessons and workshops on regional history and Lasowiacy culture are offered for children.
