The Kossak Family Manor

This historic manor in Górki Wielkie in the Silesian Beskids is linked with the Kossak family — the writer Zofia Kossak lived here. The building burned down during the Second World War, and after 1989 her heirs and the foundation named after her restored its former role. The Centre for Culture and Art has operated here since 2011.

What Happens Here

The manor is now one of the liveliest cultural venues in the region, hosting exhibitions, concerts, literary meetings and workshops. Its best-known series is the Artistic Summer at the Kossaks, which every year draws audiences from across Cieszyn Silesia.

Visiting and the Area

The house is open to tourists — individual visitors need no booking, while organised groups should arrange their visit in advance. Skoczów, Ustroń and the trails up Równica and Czantoria are all close.
