Tarpan Horse Stud is a family-run equestrian centre located in the village of Korboniec near Mława, in the north of Mazovia. It has operated continuously since 2002, and its beginnings go back to two Polish ponies — Nimba and Baca. For years the centre has focused on calm, close contact with the horse and riding surrounded by nature.
The centre lies off the beaten track, away from any buildings — there are no inhabited buildings within a radius of about 2 km — near forest areas and nature reserves. This location is well suited both to safe learning and to horseback trips into the countryside. It is easily reached from the Warsaw–Gdańsk route.
At Tarpan you can learn horse riding from scratch, while more advanced riders can perfect their skills here. The centre organises horseback rides — from single-day outings to multi-day expeditions — as well as carriage rides and winter sleigh rides.
The programme is used by beginners and experienced riders, families and organised groups. Hippotherapy sessions as well as historical shows and re-enactments are also held, which makes the place attractive to spectators too.
An indoor riding arena is available, thanks to which classes take place all year round, regardless of the weather. The centre also runs a horse boarding facility and offers horse transport.
The centre is open all year round — the indoor arena makes riding possible even in winter and on rainy days. Class times are arranged individually; prior telephone booking is required.
The most convenient way is by car — the centre is a few minutes from the Warsaw–Gdańsk route near Mława. Parking is available on site.
