ul. Gorczańska 2, Wieś Łopuszna
This branch of the Tatra Museum occupies a historic manor house in Łopuszna, a village between Nowy Targ and the Gorce Mountains. The building was raised at the end of the 18th century on the initiative of Romuald Lisicki, an officer of the Bar Confederation, and in later decades belonged to noble families including the Tetmajer and Lgocki families. The museum has cared for it since 1978.
The interiors are arranged as a museum of manor furnishings: the old kitchen with its hearth has survived, and the displays present the history of the house, its guests and the everyday life of the village. A separate highlight is the collection of vessels - wooden, clay, cast iron and faience - showing how a household changed over the centuries.
Next to the manor stands the Klamerus house, filled with tools and everyday objects from Łopuszna, a fine example of Podhale timber architecture. A visit takes about an hour and combines well with a trip into the Gorce or to the Czorsztyn Reservoir.
