Mill ruins in Strzeleczki

The Amerykan mill complex lies on Prudnicka Street in Strzeleczki, in the Krapkowice district. The former Schreibersdorfer Mühle is a ruin today, yet it still impresses with its scale and form — urban explorers and photographers come here willingly.

Unusual architecture

The buildings were raised in a Venetian Renaissance style, an exceptional choice for this part of the Opole region. The mill was called automatic because steam engines drove part of its machinery. The name “Amerykan” comes from the American mills on which the layout of the plant was modelled.

Good to know

The complex consisted of three structures: the mill, the granary and a house. The buildings are neglected, the walls are crumbling in places and the floors are not secured. Visiting is entirely at your own risk — it is safest to view the ruins from the outside.

Cost: Free admission Visit duration: approx. 30 minutes Seasonality: Year-round, viewing from the outside
