Lubostroń, Wieś Lubostroń
The palace in Lubostroń stands in a small village in Żnin County, a dozen or so kilometres from Łabiszyn. It was built at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries on the initiative of Count Franciszek Skórzewski and designed by Stanisław Zawadzki, one of the leading architects of Polish Neoclassicism. The name of the estate comes from the owner's words about this quiet retreat.
The building follows a plan close to a square, and its heart is a central rotunda covered by a dome — the most striking feature of the interior. Around it stretches an estate of nearly forty hectares with an English landscape park and several surviving farm buildings. The interiors are open to visitors once a date has been arranged in advance.
The palace works as a cultural institution: concerts, exhibitions and conferences are held here, and the museum section is sometimes closed during them. It is best to confirm access before arriving. The park remains an open space for a walk in any season.
