Wieś Dębowy Gaj
The palace ruins in Dębowy Gaj hide in a small village in Lwówek County, in the Izera Foothills. The Baroque residence was raised in the 18th century on the site of an older 17th-century manor. The building was laid out on a rectangular plan and had three storeys.
The load-bearing walls and the stone window surrounds still stand, and the former division of the façade can be read from them. Wartime destruction and later use as a state farm store for grain and fertiliser finished the job. Material from the palace and its outbuildings was taken away over the years.
The ruins are not secured and the surrounding old park is overgrown, so a visit is entirely at your own risk and without entering the interior. A place for lovers of forgotten residences, convenient as a short stop on the way to Lwówek Śląski.
