Six kilometres along Lake Ełckie

The promenade in Ełk runs along the shore of Lake Ełckie for about six kilometres. The walkway is divided into a pedestrian and a cycling lane, so walkers, runners and cyclists do not get in each other's way. It is the city's main recreational axis, free to use all year round.

Along the way

Benches, a playground, the municipal beach and a jetty are spread along the route. In summer you can rent water equipment, and in the evening watch the illuminated fountain on the lake. The wooden sculptures of Polish rulers up to the third partition, made by local artists, also catch the eye.

The surroundings

Restaurants and pubs operate by the promenade, and Kopernik Park and the centre of Ełk are close by. The surface is even and free of steps, so the route suits prams and wheelchairs; dogs on a lead are welcome.
