An amphitheatre hidden in the forest

Opera Leśna is an open-air stage in Sopot, set into a beech-covered slope yet still close to the centre of the resort. The complex covers around four hectares and includes an auditorium with a membrane roof, conference rooms, the Klub Pod Sceną venue and food outlets. The International Song Festival in Sopot has been held here since 1964.

What to see

Outside concert days the grounds are often open to visitors: you can stand on the stage, walk between the rows of seating and take a close look at the roof structure spanning the amphitheatre. An open-air exhibition on the history of the Sopot festival lines the paths, and next to the stage stand the ROOPs, wooden megaphones for playing with sound that appeal to younger visitors.

Good to know

The venue lives by its calendar of events — concerts, performances and festivals concentrated mainly in the summer season. It is worth checking the programme before arriving, as sightseeing may be impossible on event days and the surrounding streets are then heavily congested.

  • Parking near the venue
  • Toilets on the grounds
  • Café and food outlets
  • Ticket office and conference facilities
Visit duration: approx. 1 hour Seasonality: Events mainly in the summer season (May–September)
