Seaside landmark of Międzyzdroje

The reinforced concrete pier, about 400 metres long, reaches into the Baltic at the entrance to the main beach in Międzyzdroje, at the foot of Woliński National Park. The entrance is crowned by two domed turrets joined by a sign bearing the town's name — the most photographed view in the resort.

What to see

A walk along the deck opens up a panorama of the coast: the cliffs of Wolin island, the wide beach and ships at anchor. Since 2004 the pier has also served as a marina — yachts moor here, as do Polish and German excursion boats taking passengers on cruises along the coast.

Good to know

The first pier, a wooden one, was built here in the late 19th century; storms destroyed it repeatedly, and the structure owes its present shape to a thorough rebuild in 2004. Entry is free and possible at any time of day. Stalls with souvenirs and sweet snacks operate at the landward end.
