Plac Bogumiła Hoffa, Wisła
The Market Square in Wisła, officially Bogumił Hoff Square, is the representative centre of the town in the Vistula valley at the foot of the Silesian Beskids. It took shape between the wars, when Wisła was growing into a fashionable resort, and today it is the starting point for most walks around the town.
A fountain stands in the middle of the square, with stalls selling souvenirs and handicrafts set up around it. The former Spa House, now home to the town hall, a restaurant and the tourist information point, faces the square, as does the Lutheran church of Saints Peter and Paul; the Beskid Museum is a few steps away. Set into the paving is the Avenue of Sports Stars with plaques for athletes linked to Wisła, among them Adam Małysz and Piotr Żyła.
The square is open all year, busiest in summer and during winter ski-jumping events. The flat surface makes it easy to move with a pushchair, and walking a dog here is no problem.
