ul. Konstytucji 3-ego Maja, Karpacz
The pedestrian promenade in Karpacz, running along Konstytucji 3 Maja Street, is the showpiece thoroughfare of a town spread out below Śnieżka. It gathers cafés, restaurants, souvenir shops and equipment rentals, which makes it the busiest place in Karpacz in summer and during the ski season.
Wooden houses in the Karkonosze style and guesthouses from the turn of the 20th century survive along the street. The promenade takes in Skwer Zdobywców (Conquerors' Square) with a boulder brought from Mount Everest, commemorating the first winter ascent of the peak by Krzysztof Wielicki and Leszek Cichy; beside it are the boot prints of other Polish mountaineers, including Wanda Rutkiewicz and Jerzy Kukuczka. Along the way you can also visit Karkonoskie Tajemnice with the legends of the region.
A short walk for the whole family and a good option on a day of poor weather, when the mountains are off the table. The street is paved and easy to cover with a pushchair.
