A market square in a spa town below Czantoria

The Main Market Square in Ustroń lies in the centre of this Beskid spa town, at the foot of the Czantoria and Równica mountains. Unusually, it combines the function of a town square with that of a park, so it feels more like a green area than a dense city centre. Its present shape comes from the revitalisation carried out after 2008 under the idea of the square as the town's living room.

What to see

The town hall building stands out most, and behind it stretches a small park with places to rest. A modern amphitheatre draws attention, decorated with a large-format photograph from the interwar period. The wall of the municipal library carries a mural referring to the character of the place and the history of Ustroń.

For visitors

Restaurants and cafés operate around the square, busy in summer with hikers returning from the trails. A tourist information point by the square answers questions about routes and local events. The square itself can be seen in half an hour, ideally combined with a walk up Równica or a ride up Czantoria.
