Frombork seen from the water

The seaport of Frombork lies on the southern shore of the Vistula Lagoon, not far from the cathedral hill. It plays a double role: an active shipping harbour and, at the same time, a spot offering one of the best views of the town and the bulk of its cathedral.

What happens here

Yachts sailing the lagoon moor at the small quay, and excursion boats call alongside, running cruises towards Krynica Morska and the Vistula Spit among other destinations. Fishing cutters and smaller cargo vessels also put out from here, so there is traffic on the water for most of the season.

The surroundings

The port makes a good starting point for exploring Frombork — the town associated with Nicolaus Copernicus. The cathedral complex and the museum are close by. Walking along the quay is free and possible at any time of year, although the port's life is concentrated in the summer months.
