A square of medieval origin

This intimate square in the centre of Sławków has preserved its medieval urban layout, with streets running out from the corners. The frontages are made up of arcaded townhouses housing shops and eateries.

What to see

The middle of the square is occupied by an eighteenth-century town hall with a tower, and right next to it lies a small green with paths and benches. An old well of unknown date stands on the square, while wayside shrines survive in the neighbouring lanes. An information board by the town hall shows the local hiking trails.

Who it suits

A good stop for a short walk and a coffee while travelling through the borderland of Zagłębie and the Jura. The square is flat and barrier-free, so it works with a pushchair and with a dog. Walking round it takes a quarter of an hour, so it is worth combining with the other monuments of Sławków.
