Gdynia's showpiece

The Feliks Nowowiejski Seaside Boulevard is Gdynia's most popular walking route. It stretches for about one and a half kilometres from the city-centre beach to Polanka Redłowska, right along the shore of the Gulf of Gdańsk. It was created back in the 1920s, and a thorough revitalisation at the start of this century gave it its present shape.

What to see

Sculptures are spaced along the route. At one end stand the Gdynia fish, the city's symbol; at the other, the composition „Powrót do domu” („Homecoming”) showing salmon returning to their rivers. On the way you also pass a monument to the victims of sea disasters, dedicated to those who went on their eternal watch.

Who it suits

The boulevard works both for a short stroll and for a longer visit: a cycle path runs beside the footway, and there is a playground and an outdoor gym. Bars and restaurants along the route let you rest with a view of the bay and the harbour entrance.
