Oksywie Boulevard in Gdynia

A lesser-known waterfront path

The boulevard in Oksywie is Gdynia's second seafront walkway, in the northern part of the city. Formally it is a breakwater and a service road, but for years it has served as a promenade; at the residents' request benches and bins were installed along it. It is used mainly by locals, though the number of walkers keeps growing.

What to see

The route is about 1.7 kilometres long and runs between the sea and a wooded cliff, giving a landscape quite unlike the city-centre waterfront. Along the way you can see a fishing harbour with traditional cutters, the Navy port basins, the old torpedo station standing in the water and the beach at Babie Doły.

Good to know

The easiest access is from Osada Rybacka street, where there is a car park. The surface is hard and even, so the walk needs no preparation, but in a strong onshore wind it can be unpleasant — the breakwater is completely exposed.
