Marshal Józef Piłsudski Boulevard runs along the bank of the Vistula below the old town of Sandomierz. It was created as part of an EU-funded regeneration of the riverside and combines a walking promenade with sports facilities. From the path there is a wide view of the river and of the escarpment with the historic town above.
A modern marina operates by the boulevard, together with a Water Sports Building housing facilities and an equipment rental point. Excursion boats also moor here, so a cruise on the Vistula can start straight from the bank. The marina serves kayakers and sailors, while the boulevard itself is a convenient starting point for exploring the town.
There is a playground for children and designated spots for campfires and outdoor gatherings. Concerts and open-air events are held on the stage. A car park and toilets are located next to the boulevard, and a tourist information point provides details about the town.
