The historic centre of Ziębice

The market square is the main point of the old town of this Lower Silesian town in the Ząbkowice district. It is surrounded by ornamented townhouses, among them the former town residence of the Cistercian abbots, the largest building on the frontage, today housing a hotel.

Town hall and museum

The middle of the square is taken up by a town hall from the end of the 19th century, built on the site of an earlier one and incorporating a Renaissance tower. It is not the seat of the municipal authorities: it houses the Museum of Household Appliances and the register office. While visiting the exhibition you can also see the preserved interiors with wall paintings and stained glass.

Good to know

Trees on the square provide shade, and shops and eateries operate around it. Walking round the square itself takes a quarter of an hour, while the museum interiors of the town hall take longer. The space is flat and convenient for families with children.
