The Tylicz History Museum has been open since 2014 in the historic town hall on the market square of Tylicz, in the Beskid Sądecki range. It is run jointly by the Cultural Centre in Krynica-Zdrój and the Odkryj Tylicz association, and the display occupies several rooms of the building.
The exhibitions tell the story of the town from its founding: everyday objects, traditional Lemko costumes, archive photographs and documents. A separate section is devoted to artists connected with Tylicz and the surrounding area — sculptors, painters and craftsmen. Among the highlights are a violin made by the local luthier Marcin Kozicki, a lambswool shawl and men's breeches.
A visit takes roughly an hour and makes a good rainy-day stop on the way between Krynica-Zdrój and the Tylicka Pass. The display is easy to follow for children, and the market square with its church and small-town architecture lies right outside the door.
