A historic brewery in Roztocze

The Zwierzyniec brewery operates in the centre of a small town at the gateway to Roztocze National Park. The plant was founded in the nineteenth century, when English-style beers were in fashion, and it owes its beginnings to that trend — the first brewer was an Englishman named Millard. Despite fires and two rebuilds, the ornate façade remains one of the town's recognisable landmarks.

Visiting

The guided route runs through the successive stages of production: the brewhouse, the filtration vats and the fermentation room. Along the way you can see a collection of labels and bottles documenting the brand's history, with information cards structuring the story. The guide covers both the works' past and the craft of brewing. Entry requires booking in advance, ideally at least a day ahead.

The surroundings

After the tour it is worth stopping at the tap room next to the brewery for beers made on site, then walking to the pond with a church on an island — the town's best-known view. The trails of Roztocze National Park begin nearby.
