Połczyn-Zdrój
Dolina Pięciu Jezior is a landscape reserve of about 229 hectares within the Drawa Landscape Park, a few kilometres from Połczyn-Zdrój. It occupies a broad glacial trough, one of the most impressive in the Drawa Lakeland, which holds a chain of five lakes: Krzywe, Krąg, Głębokie, Długie and Małe. Old beech stands cover the steep slopes of the depression.
Protection covers the headwater area of the Drawa river together with Pomeranian beech forest, fen peatlands and aquatic plant communities. Yellow water lily and white water lily grow in and around the lakes, while the forest floor holds mezereon, liverleaf, sweet woodruff and broad-leaved marsh orchid. Water, peat and woodland form a combination rarely found on such a small scale.
Marked trails linking Połczyn-Zdrój with Czaplinek run through the valley: the blue hiking Szlak Szwajcarii Połczyńskiej and the red cycling Szlak Solny (Salt Trail). They follow the slopes of the trough, opening views over successive lakes. Visitors must keep to the marked paths.
