Wieś Oblęgorek
The partial reserve of Barania Góra protects the slopes of a hill in the Oblęgór Range of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, right next to the village of Oblęgorek and the manor of Henryk Sienkiewicz. Protection covers mainly the southern and south-western slopes together with the loess ravines cut into them.
The stands are dominated by fir and beech, mixed with pine, pedunculate oak, hornbeam, birch and aspen. In places the forest floor is covered by a dense carpet of common ivy. Fir clubmoss, mezereon, sword-leaved helleborine, periwinkle, sweet woodruff and alder buckthorn also grow here.
Two walking trails, black and red, cross the reserve and lead to the top of Barania Góra. The walk is easy to combine with a visit to the museum in Oblęgorek, and the steep loess ravines call for shoes with a good grip.
