Lake Zegrze is an artificial retention reservoir created in the 1960s by damming the Narew and Bug rivers with a dam in Dębe, with an area of about 3,300 ha. Located just north of Warsaw, it is one of the most popular fisheries of Mazovia, managed by the Mazovian District of the Polish Angling Association (PZW).
The reservoir lies in the Warsaw Basin, in the Legionowo district; along its shores are, among others, Nieporęt, Zegrze, Serock, Jadwisin, Jachranka and Rynia.
Bream, carp, roach, tench, zander, pike, perch and catfish are caught here; the reservoir is known for large catfish (a record specimen – 74.5 kg). Popular methods are spinning and fly fishing for predators from a boat.
For anglers from the Warsaw agglomeration (an angling card and a PZW permit are required).
