Bartek Mazowiecki is an imposing pedunculate oak growing in the village of Emów in Otwock County, Mazovia. The tree is protected as a natural monument. Its age is estimated at around 300 years, it reaches 25 metres in height and the trunk circumference is close to 587 cm. The name refers to the famous Bartek Oak in the Świętokrzyskie region — the Mazovian namesake is slimmer, yet still ranks among the most impressive oaks in Poland.
A marked walking path running along the valley of the Mienia river leads to the tree. The route is short and easy, but it can be damp after rain, so sturdy shoes are useful. The oak grows within the „Świder” nature reserve, so you should keep strictly to the designated trails.
The „Świder” reserve protects the meandering beds of the Świder and Mienia rivers together with riverside riparian forests and escarpments. It is a popular walking area in the Otwock belt near Warsaw, easily combined with a visit to Otwock or Józefów. The valley is especially picturesque in spring and autumn.
