ul. Wincentego Pola, Iwonicz-Zdrój
Bełkotka is the oldest and best known mineral spring of Iwonicz-Zdrój, protected as a natural monument. It lies in the valley of the stream of the same name, on the edge of the spa part of the town in Krosno County. The name comes from the characteristic gurgling of the water, caused by natural gas escaping from the bottom of the spring.
The gurgling itself is the most interesting part of a visit — the water in the basin bubbles continuously. Next to the spring stands an obelisk with a commemorative plaque bearing a poem devoted to it by Wincenty Pol, along with the poet's likeness. The place is intimate in scale and fits well into the unhurried rhythm of the spa town.
A blue trail starting at the Tourist Information Centre in Iwonicz-Zdrój leads to the spring through a picturesque valley. The same path can be followed onwards towards Góra Przedziwna. The route is easy and partly forested, good for a walk of a few hours.
