Wieś Zdroisko
The Buki Zdroiskie Reserve, named after Prof. Lucjan Agapow, lies on the Gorzów Plain near the village of Zdroisko, within the Barlinek Forest Protected Landscape Area. It also covers parts of two Natura 2000 sites protecting habitats and birds.
Protection covers a mixed forest of Pomeranian beechwood character, estimated to be around 160 years old. The stand grows on the steep slopes of the Santoczna river gorge, which opens up striking views down the valley. Rare plants here include the giant horsetail.
Marked paths lead through the reserve; one of them passes a viewing platform above the valley and a memorial boulder dedicated to a forester of local merit. The walk takes about two hours and needs no preparation, although some climbs are steep.
