Wieś Ruda
A group of rock formations on the slopes of a hill on the northern side of Lake Brodzkie, near the village of Ruda in the Starachowice district. The rocks are protected as a natural monument and lie within the Kamienna Valley Protected Landscape Area.
The blocks are built of Lower Triassic sandstone and take varied shapes — from a tower with vertical walls to a several-metre cliff with a wide rock shelf. Some boulders have broken away from the face, forming crevices and overhangs. Mosses and lichens cover the stone surfaces.
A short walk combined with nature watching: oaks grow straight out of the rock and multi-trunked, twisted birches stand nearby. Some walls are used by climbers, mainly in the warmer months.
