Wieś Siadło Dolne
This landscape reserve near Siadło Dolne in the Police district protects the steep edge of the Oder valley, part of the Wał Stobniański ridge. Its centrepiece is Morenka Hill, rising to about 65 m and topped by the viewpoint that gave the whole area its name. It is one of the few places in Western Pomerania where the river valley is seen from above rather than from water level.
From the top opens a panorama of Międzyodrze — the backwaters, canals and meadows stretching from Szczecin to Gryfino. The treeless slope means nothing blocks the view. The sun-exposed escarpment supports warmth-loving grassland and steppe vegetation; meadow pasqueflower, spiny restharrow and guelder rose grow here, and many species are legally protected.
Marked walking trails cross the reserve, and covering the whole area with a stop at the viewpoint takes about two hours. The ground is steep and slippery in places after rain, so sturdy footwear helps. Spring, when the grasslands bloom, and autumn, with clear air over the valley, are the best times.
