Skałka Rogoźnicka is a small reserve of inanimate nature in the Podhale region, about one and a half kilometres from Rogoźnik. Geographically it lies in the Gubałówka Foothills, but geologically it belongs to the Pieniny Klippen Belt — one of the westernmost witnesses of that structure.
The rock itself rises in the forest at about 670 m above sea level, on the right bank of the Trawny stream. It is built of limestone known in geology as the Rogoźnik coquina — a breccia full of fossil shells and ammonites. The site has been studied by palaeontologists from across Europe for over a century.
Mountain vegetation persists around the rock: stemless carline thistle, fringed gentian, common polypody and asarabacca grow here. The approach from the village takes a quarter of an hour along a forest road, and viewing the outcrop with its surroundings about an hour. Chipping the rock or collecting specimens is forbidden.
