Wieś Dębska Kuźnia
The Srebrne Źródła Nature Reserve lies near the village of Dębska Kuźnia in Opole County, within the Stobrawa-Turawa Forests Protected Landscape Area. It protects the spring area of an unnamed tributary of the Jemielnica together with the surrounding woods. Water emerges here straight from the forest floor and keeps the habitats permanently damp.
Four protected natural habitats adjoin one another on a small area: Central European oak-hornbeam forest, elm-ash riparian forest, ash-alder riparian forest and tall-herb communities with white butterbur. This mosaic supports a rich understorey and shelters amphibians, birds and insects tied to wet forests.
The marked Opole – Łagiewniki Małe route leads to the reserve and is comfortable for walkers and cyclists. The spring area is boggy, so it is worth keeping to the path and wearing waterproof footwear. The walk in and an unhurried circuit of the reserve take about three hours.
