Puck
Głazy 12 Apostołów are a group of erratic boulders lying on the shore of Puck Bay, within the Rozgard district of Puck, right by the cliff. In Kashubian they are called “Dwanôsce Apòsztołôw”. They were carried here by the Scandinavian ice sheet, and storm waves gradually washed them out of the clayey base of the cliff.
The largest block measures about 7.2 metres in circumference and 1.6 metres in height; the others are smaller and partly submerged. Their arrangement changes with the water level and after stronger storms. The site belongs to the Coastal Landscape Park, which protects the cliffs, beaches and shore meadows of the Kashubian Coast.
You reach the boulders from the top of the cliff, walking along the shore from the Puck side; the stroll takes a few dozen minutes. On the way the bay and the Hel Peninsula open up before you. Going right up to the cliff edge is inadvisable — the scarp slides, especially after rain and during storms.
