Wieś Antonin
Wydymacz is a floristic and landscape reserve in the Szperek forest range near Antonin, in southern Wielkopolska. It protects a stretch of ash and alder riparian forest along with imposing old trees, sites of protected plants and habitats of waterbirds. The terrain is damp, with numerous backwaters and streams.
Alongside native pine, spruce and fir grow introduced species, among them eastern hemlock, planted here in the days of the old forest estates. Broadleaved trees are represented by alder, pedunculate oak and hornbeam. In the undergrowth you may come across single stands of common ivy and spurge laurel.
At least 120 bird species have been recorded here, nearly 70 of them linked to the reserve in the breeding season — the nearby Przygodzice Ponds add further to this diversity. An educational trail with boards runs through the area, and the blue Antonin — Las Strugi — Antonin route makes access easy.
