Janów Podlaski Horse Stud is one of the oldest and most famous studs in Poland, founded in 1817. For more than two centuries it has been renowned for breeding purebred Arabian horses and is a true showcase of Polish horse breeding worldwide.
The stud was established on the initiative of the authorities of the Kingdom of Poland and over the decades has built a worldwide brand. Horses from Janów win the highest trophies at international shows and championships.
Picturesquely located in the Bug River valley, the complex of historic stables is a tourist attraction of the region. It is possible to tour the site, see the horses and take part in equestrian events.
Every year in August the prestigious Pride of Poland Arabian horse auction is held here, attracting breeders, collectors and horse lovers from all over the world.
This is a place for tourists, families and horse enthusiasts — for a short visit as well as for taking part in shows and auctions.
The stud can be visited all year round; the period of summer shows and the August auction is especially attractive. It is worth confirming visiting hours and any bookings in advance.
