Wieś Tylmanowa
The Kłodne nad Dunajcem reserve covers a stretch of woodland in the hamlet of Kłodne near Tylmanowa, in the Beskid Sądecki range. It lies within the Poprad Landscape Park and forms part of the „Ostoja Popradzka” Natura 2000 habitat site. It protects a natural patch of Carpathian beech forest of considerable scientific and educational value.
Fertile Carpathian beech forest grows here alongside acidic mountain beech wood, and the stand is around 150 years old, making it one of the finest in the area. Right by the Dunajec, fragments of Carpathian oak-hornbeam forest survive, while lush tall-herb communities develop along the streams, including Potok po Lewej Ręce.
The reserve is a site for many protected species: spurge laurel, common ivy, deadly nightshade and the long-leaved carline thistle. The orchid family is particularly well represented here, with early purple orchid, broad-leaved helleborine, lesser butterfly-orchid and bird's-nest orchid among others.
