Diabli Skok is one of the oldest nature reserves in Wielkopolska, located by the village of Budy in Złotów County. It protects a fragment of mixed forest covering the steep slopes of a deep ravine, a landform that is rare in this lowland landscape.
The German name Teufelsprung, meaning the devil's leap, became attached to the place at the beginning of the 20th century and still adds an air of mystery. Around 300 plant species have been counted in this small area, many of them protected. Among them grow mezereon, perfoliate honeysuckle, white water lily and yellow water lily.
The yellow Podgaje-Zdbice cycling route runs around the reserve, so a visit combines well with a ride through the surrounding forests. The descent into the ravine is steep and slippery after rain, so it is best to keep to the beaten paths and avoid trampling the undergrowth. A walk with some plant watching takes about two hours.
